HiFI- I have your answer; I'm in FL too!!! I just did this!

I guess it all depends on your insurance co.?

My co. would not cover the full price of OEM- BUT- let me tell you.. the price of OEM went up as soon as I mentioned insurance to anyone. Goes to show how inflated things can become!

When I first contacted them, OEM was way too expensive! They were willing to cover up to $330 and OEM was almost $900 (of course we pay the diff.). I found a few things talking to the girl at the glass place that was going to do the work. There is glass, premium glass and OEM. The 330 covered the "glass (+labor)."

I called the ins. co. and complained- not extacly complained, but 'pushed' for more $$. To make a long story short...

I eventually got $480 (+7% tax) and the $70 seal (Saab only- had to wait for shipping) from the co, and yes this included labor. I got the premium glass! Stock in all ways but one- no SAAB etched on the glass... I can still sleep at night (and see in the day!).

Worth it- yes! The shop I used would not do the work UNLESS I had the OEM seal replaced.

I'm of this opinion- because FL law is no deductable... the ins. co's and the glass guys have a deal! Everyone is making $$ on our semi-annual payments!

I've driven in light rain and no leaks! There was post from another guy asking about the seal- he's on his 6th warrenty call... they did not use an OEM seal on any of the replacements!

Best of luck- left my email for more details.

Steve

PS- Nice to see the world in a perfect (and safe) way!
