...And I did not have a good time. But maybe you can learn from my mistakes.

1. You definitely have to remove the drivers seat. Depending on how well you do, you may have to take out a lot more. If you have a Bently manual it says to first remove the shifter housing. (A real pain...this is where you have to take out more) BUT FIRST try it without removing the shifter housing.

2. You CAN do this with the shifter housing in the car.
3. To remove:

There is a flat kinda offset on the housing where the key cylinder sits. You need to drill a hole in this flat part. Several posts I've seen said that there is some sort of hole or indent but I had nothing to guide me.If you have a Bently manual, it has a picture showing a guy using a hammer and a punch on the spot. make sure you drill pretty straight, I drilled at an angle and I was off just by a hair. (I didn't know this until I pulled the entire housing out). Don't drill too far like I did. You should feel the drill bit hit some air then stop.

Make sure that the key is in the position in the manual. The little button goes NOWHERE unless the key is in this position. (how do I know?)

The manual also says use the key to pull the cylinder out. I did, and got the cylinder about 1/4 inch out and then my key broke. It was a cheap copy key. I should have used my orginal steel Saab key. I had to resort to pliers and screwdrivers to get the cylinder the rest of the way out.

On thing that I noticed is that when you press the pin in, it will stay in until you move the key, then it starts going back out. Mine maybe sticky.
If you don't have a Bently manual, I saw somewhere on this BB while searching on this topic that someone had the pages in a web link.
