First, thanks to all for responding to the key cylinder removal issue.
I unbolted the the drivers seat via the 4 torx bolts folded it and left it resting against the back seat in the car. This way you dont have to remove the harness and also risk dirty-ing of the seat. Then I drilled a 1/4 inch hole thru the circular imprint on the housing. The trick seems to be the following: the key as to be positioned between lock and the first (between 10 to 12 oclock ) position for the pin to be pushed back. Also when drilling the hole , the white plastic gets chewed off, but then who cares.
once th ekey was turned in the proper spot the pin got pushed back easily and the cylinder came off without a problem. Then I had to position the new key in the new cylinder such that the pin was free to be pushed in.
Slipped the cylinder in the shell and thats all there was to it.
