check valves. Heck, we couldn't afford washer fluid. We would spit on the windshield and make wiping motions with our arms. Windshields you say? We used an old wood door with tiny holes poked into it. We couldn't afford gasoline, so we would take turns pushin', except for my tiny brother....We couldn't afford to buy him feet. Instead of tires we stole round sewer covers and drilled holes for the lug nuts into them. Our car didn't have seats, so we would place our feet through the rusted out floor boards and run along with it while inside, (except again for our poor tiny kid brother). We didn't need a horn, that's what tiny brother was for. We would strap his poor, limp, legless body on the front where the hood shoulda' been (if we coulda' afforded one)and tell him to holla' if he saw anything a-comin'.
Sniff....sniff...sniff. Seems like yesterday, but it is all so sad and so long ago.
