Walter's visit to HVS

Here at HVS, we happily work on the classic 900's. Being the owner of three, (not to mention my 65 Monte Carlo) I can appreciate the difficulty of not having every part imaginable in stock. Unfortunately as with any business, parts stocking ie, where do we put all this stuff, is an issue.
Walter failed to mention that there were a couple of options available. The main reason, we recommended a new hub was due to the age of the car and the possibility we may not be able to get what was left of his stud out. We have to able guarantee the repairs we do and performing a questionable repair is something we refuse to do. We had never seen Walter's car before and only had what was in front of us to go by. I'm sorry if he was offended by the fact I didn't get excited when he told me it was an SPG. However, as with any customer that visits HVS, we treat everyone with courtesy regardless if it's their first visit or if they are one of our many fans. We can't control how he felt when he left. Although I quoted him around an hours labor to look at the car, I charged him absolutely nothing. Having an older Saab can be a challenge, but blaming the dealer for ones own feelings of worth, well.................
