I had same prob on my '84 Turbo. Do not use glue or stickum or tape! The mirror glass lens has a circular plastic locking fixture on the back, which mates with same in the housing. If you will lay in the snow ( he he) and look up at bottom of housing, you will see a small opening. Insert small screwdriver and 'feel' it into the notches inside. You rotate the notched ring to free, or tighten the lens. It is so easy once you get the feel of it - kinda like brain surgery thru your ear! Don't know where I learned about this - is it in Bentley?
