Front end vibration under acceleration, ideas?

My '89 SPG with 106k miles began a subtle chassis shake 6 months ago. Symptom: only in 4th and 5th, when under load, 2500-3000rpm. I am back in my foreign 'indy' shop 2nd time, since left axle assy r&r and front motor mount r&r failed to remove vibration. It is reduced, but I think that is from new motor mount. Tech has rotated wheels to elim. them as source. He
can reproduce the vibration on hoist, is certain it is left side, can only think to get another axle assy based on first new one defective. Says new shaft has new tri-bearing. What are we missing here? My Bentley doesn't clearly show difference between 'tri-joint' and 'inner driver'. The inner
driver housing doesn't go bad, does it? All input welcomed.
