I don't know about PPGs line, but, I'm sure they maintain a web site that details their products. I've used DuPont's Chroma Base for my old white Monte Carlo....I even clear-coated it which few manufacturers did in the 80s on solid colors.

With all of the additives (i.e. reducers, flex agents, etc.), the bill totals rapidly. But, you're only looking at a quart max if you're shooting the quarter. The primer-surfacer is relatively inexpensive, and, that is what you want...primer-surfacer. You need not sand down to bare metal and therefore, won't need an epoxy primer. Since you're not changing the color of the car you don't need a "blocker" either.

You are likely looking at a single-stage urethane job on your car from the factory if its a solid color. If its metallic, that's two-stage (basecoat/clear coat) and the paint will cost more than non-metallic and be more difficult to shoot. If its red or yellow, it will cost more than other colors because the red/orange/yellow colors of the spectrum's pigments are more expensive that greens/blues/blacks/whites. You can visit a local auto paint supplier who can go over the paint systems they have, but, I've found that each store seems to heavily carry one manufacturer; DuPont vs. PPG vs. Sherwin Williams.

Now after all this, heres a website to pose the same question and you will get concrete answers. Maintained by a pro, its BB is read by pros, hobbyists, and novices and gets quite a bit of action like this board. And if you can't find your PPG literature, it may have been some time since you last used it and there can be improvements in their paint systems which would make your previous instruction obsolete.

Of course you do know that once you use urethane that even a mask respirator does not sufficiently filter the isocynates in the paint and additives - you need a forced-air body suit. There are some cynate-free paints and clears though and that's what you should be looking for.
