You mention cleaning the throttle body. In detail? The vac port holes are clean? The idle screw passage is clean? It's stuff like that which bogs the 8V down. Also, the components and hoses connected to the intake are prone to developing vac leaks. Adequate (fuel) line pressure is also a factor. The line pressure adjustment screw on the fuel distributor has both a spring and a rubber O ring which can age, thus increasing control pressure which lowers line pressure. That pressure, if lower than spec, may not be noticable while driving at normal speeds, but can be a problem at idle during warm-up. The adjustment is a matter of removing it and adding spacing shims. I recently nabbed a few such shims from scrap cars for adjustment purposes on my 82T8V. I doubt your aux air valve is the problem. The fact that your engine idles fine for up to 2 minutes, then begins the hunt, indicates that the aux air valve is working - as it is designed to close within minutes of warm-up. You might also want to increase your idle speed setting as that can help the engine get through the cold hunt.
