the clutchmaster cylinder have been replaced. This is due to the new fluid that is flushed through the system when replacing clutchmaster cylinder. New fluid can wreck havoc on an old slavecylinder.
If you are satisfied with other work that this mechanic have done, by all means go back to him.
The only wrongdoing I can see him done is that he didn't inform you about the chances that slave cylinder could go bad.
And slave cylinder is not a part that you just throw in when doing the clutch master, since the whole clutch assembly have to come out.
The other part that also can go bad in a repair like this is the clutch line between the master and slave cylinder. This one is fairly easy to replace.
