Should take 2-3 hours even the first time. Clamp off water hose to prevent heavy coolant drain. Upper water feed and oil will not make a mess.
One important question, was the oil feed tube replaced? If this is not replaced with a new turbo install, the crud in the tube can migrate to the turbo bearings and trash the new turbo very quickly. Might be the cause of rapid failure of first replacement.
This pipe is about $70 and replacement will consume half your time. The hardest task is removing and replacing the banjo bolt under the intake runners. Here's the trick; get a long tie strip and fasten the large coolant hose to the runners above. Then you will be able to snake your arm under the hose to get to the bolt with a wrench.
I would also recommend new nuts for the exhaust to headpipe flange. I have found that reused nuts, even with loctite, like to loosen up.
