Rain on the ignition switch

Hate to admit this but the sunroof on our '87 900 was left open during an overnight rainstorm and now nothing electrical works off the ignition switch. Won't start, no dash lights, no headlights, no radio. The battery seems fine (jumping from another car did not remedy problem, and interior lights and parking lights are bright).
Is there an electrical component in the ignition system that could have shorted out if the ignition switch was exposed to a lot of rain??
