If you are going to carry spare parts carry:
1.ignition module- Can be attatched next to old one where connector will reach.
2.voltage regulator- most bosch alternators can be repaired by replacing v. reg. Alyays try replacing reg. first before buying new alt.
3. I wished I had an extra fuel pump 700 miles from home 2 weeks ago.
4. If you can find one the plastic connector on the side of the dist. can come in handy.
5. An air mass meter can be nice to have but the car will normally run forever with it unplugged. (not very well)
6. Buy a $200 junk 900 and take off everything you have room for in your attic.
I wouldn't bother with a coil I've never heard of one going bad.
Most things like hoses, wires, and belts won't let you down if they are inspected regularly. Bougicorg wires seem to give about 5-7 years of good service.
I have gotten to where I don't even carry tools, my 87 SPG seems to only have problems that don't leave me stranded. It's at 500k and I still take it routinely on 1000+ mi trips.(Usually without stops.)
