I'm one of the biggest "Use Search" Nazi's on our forum

but, we have a more extensive Tech article archive(no offense) and an extrememly detailed FAQ on all aspects of the cars and their features. If a newbie can't even take the time to look at the Tech topics before posting I do let them know about it, as 90%+ of all the routine things are covered there, and there are step by step write ups with pics and even OEM part numbers for all the items plus torque specs and a list of tools required.
Also, it irks me when someone who owns a marque of car won't take the time to do any research on it and only wants a quick answer. This is mainly because in the course of searching past posts for your problem you will come across information to other problems that you didn't even know you had.
However, if a mechanic or someone working on a less mechanically inclined friend or neighbor's car posts asking for info, I'm usually less critical since that person doesn't actually own the vehicle or have a vested intrest in learning a lot about it, if you see where I'm comming from.
It would seem that a brake tech and a clutch tech would be included, as these are routine items that need replacing? Ofetn times regular members will know of another member who posted a thread on changing this or that, and if they posted that info, even without giving a direct link it narrows down the search a lot if you enter "brake job (name of forum member)" if you know what I mean.
Also, I'd like to use a forum sponsor if they are trustworthy, so thanks for some names to try. Anyway, I have not yet looked at the car personally or I would've know about what type of brakes it had and smelled the wet floorboard. She said in her email it only happens when it rains so I'm assuming it doesn't have anything to do with the cooling system and that's why I was thinking blocked drain or leaky windshield.
Thanks for the info,
Mike
