If you've never done it have someone who has work with you. Brakes are a no shit sherlock safety issue... and there are ways to screw it up than can kill you.
Essentially, all you're doing is unbolting the caliper and taking off the rotor and putting on a new one.
BUT:
.The new rotor needs to be put on a cleaned (or at least scraped) hub without garbage in between the rotor and the hub.
.The caliper needs to be held up with a piece of wire hooked to the spring or something...don't let it hang on the hose.
. The new rotor should be installed with new pads...and pad installation varies with calipers.
. I like to open the caliper bleeders when pushing back the caliper pistons to install new pads....or bleed the brakes first with new fluid. Problem with bleeding the brakes first is you then have too much fluid in the mc and it overflows unless you suck some out.
. Use new fasteners/bolts or at least red loctite when you bolt the caliper back on.
. Be very careful around the abs sensor/sensor wheel if the car has abs.
. Brake bleeding can be done several ways....read the manual for your car, especially if it has abs brakes.
. Torque the wheel/rotor/hub correctly.
. Last...don't move the car until you have a hard pedal!!! Anything less is a hydraulic or brake problem and you need to fix it before driving it.
