running 205/45s apparently cures the problem. i run 205/50s & get some rubbing in the rear only. i briefly ran 205/55s and had rubbing in front and back. btw, 205/50 is closest to the car's original tire circumference and preserves speedo/odo accuracy. if looks are important to you, note that some people feel the 205/45 doesn't fill the wheelwell too, well, well.

other options are to shore up the spring perches in the rear by removing them & adding disks of plywood or cutting board (1/2"??). can also apparently use perches from a convertible (and maybe some of the later hardtops--same part no. iirc??), which are apparently thicker.

can also modify rear axle hardware (search performance board for axle mod), which involves shifting the axle forward 1 centimeter, thereby centering the wheel in the wheelwell and pulling it from the rear wheelwell arch where it is most likely contacting (a credible person told me saab was to have done this but never got around to it, & thus was not able to sell 16x6.5" wheels for the car. there are official marketing pics with aeros mounted on c900s...). it was once suggested to me to try doing half of this modification, which pulls the axle up 0.5mm just by flipping two brackets; might be enough, cuz the other 0.5mm requires drilling out the holes in the brackets and welding the control arms.

can add inflatable spring doo-hickeys in back.

as a drastic measure, perhaps you could machine the wheels to increase offset (stock = 27mm) to pull wheels in more. you would need to confirm that you don't then create new rubbing issues on the inside.

disclaimer: these are all suggestions i've read about but haven't done.
