I also have a 85 900....
There is nothing at the rear of the car which has coolant. But it is possible to run over it if the coolant is dropping more forward on the car in the vacinity of the plastic coolant expansion tank. There are three things which can leak...
1. The small plastic hose nipple on the tank which faces forward which goes to the top left side of the radiator. It tends to crack and leak when the tank becomes brittle from age.
2. The larger hose connection from the side of the expansion tank to the top of the engine. Look at the hose connection to the tank.
3. The pressure relief cap on the top of the expansion tank.
Attached picture is a picture of my expansion tank (and fuel lines) just before I had to change them....
