The fact that there's no sticker or fitting adapters in place make wonder what, exactly the indy shop actally did. Did they return the old "replaced" parts when they did the conversion? I would be suspicious that they didn't convert the system at all; maybe they had some leftover r-12 and just recharger the existing system. No real way to prove w/o a chem analysis of the refrig oil in the system.
Anyways:
IF you have access to a compressor,a guage set, and a vacumm venturi box used to pump down the system you can prob. fix it yourself. I have on all the various SAABs I've owned. There are excellent docs on Tom Townsends' site; townsendimports.com
http://216.78.172.32/climate_control_folder/climate_control_docs.html
If your compressor isn't dead/leaking, the remainder is relatively straight forward. Usially a leak at a hose fitting, or a sensor that's bad. There are only three of them: low pressure on the receiver-drier, high temp in the upper radiator hose (which loves to corrode), and the anti-frost thermostat. All three can be jumpered out for diagnostic purposes. There is also a sight glass in the receiver-drier; If there are any bubbles visible you have at least some charge. No bubbles is empty or over charged.
