The plugs seems to 'eat' the electrode. Colour is brown/greyish, normal looking. But the electrode will go very thin easily. Now I switched to Bosch Yttrium, will see what happend to them.
Ignition timing etc is set to the owners manual. Distributor is like new, was changed at 93,067kms by the former owner.
I'm using a coil from Lucas, the Gold one. Maybe to much power for the plugs?
HG needed to be changed second time because of improper work in the first workshop. Second Job was done with a brand new Head from the shelf. Since then no troubles. Temp gauge is still high while the air is very hot outside (35°C), but I've been told that this is normal for a 8Valve engine. Not overheating, 3-4mm before the red zone in the temp gauge. Thermo switch is opening at 87°C, fan is cutting in. T-stat has 82°C and is working properly. Coolant is from Mercedes Benz (Blue). Water pump is working.
Cold start valve is working fine, checked two days ago in a specialised workshop in Vienna.
But still bad cold starting....
Will use the Saab only from time to time, not as a daily driver anymore.
