Probably something let go. What did you use for a hose clamp on the bypass valve? Are all of your other boots on the turbo ducting tight? Check them carefully for splits and cracks.
Just to be on the save side, I'd want take it easy on the boost and get the timing back down to normal spec until you get it down below 1/2 tank and fill it back up with primo. I doubt that the regular unleaded has anything to do with this boost problem.
