87T Low End Power

Hi All!
I have an '87 T convertible, that I think I may replaced every single nut on bolt on the past two years (it was a very straight, very shiny car with a very neglected past).
I was wondering if there is anything I can do to improve my low end perforamnce before boost. I know all about turbo lag, but my car (new clutch, new motor - replaced stock sized injector's and fuel regulator), new turbo, new tranny), seems to have more of it than other C900T's I've had in the past. I also realize that this car weighs a bloody ton, so I may have answered my own question??
The car runs and boosts better, smoother and harder than the '87 I purchased new(with no performance mods, just nice new shiny parts), but it's a led sled to 30mph, which can be dangerous while attempting to pull out into traffic.
Any help would be great! I would be open to doing major work, as anything doing is worth over doing; right?
Thanks all!
Jeff
