Anyone have any suggestions for issues with my new car? I barely made it back home from 300 mile trip, on the '90 SPG that has been sitting on the yard, for the last 8 months, through the NY winter. I took a chance and drove it. It had very rough idling, dripping oil (abour 1 drop every 30 secs). The car hasn't been started at all for the last 8 months. new battery was put in, along with full tank of premium fuel and fuel injector cleaner. So I expected the rough idle, but I thought that was due to old fuel in the system. Otherwise, it seemed to drive fine. Checked the hoses. Topped of the fluids. And started home. It drove fine for the first 200 miles. Then it started degradating the last 100 miles. I saw a little bit of white smoke (smells like engine oil burn). Smoke was coming from the bottom of the engine, mostly between the engine and the firewall. (Only for a short while, though I can smell the oil burn more often). Hope it is deposit of dripped oil burning on the exhaust pipe... continued with very rough idling. Check Engine Light started to flicker on and off. The engine shuts off as I come to stop. Rough idle going to very rough idle. Accelerates very rough and does not like to go over 3000 rpm. Consequently, the turbo needle does not like to venture into the yellow area. (I don't think it's a turbo issue, as it was boosting into the red, before). I'm going to change spark plugs (NGK's), Plug wires, cap and rotor, see if that will solve it... Anyone can give me some insights as what else I should do? I'm a newbie (new at this DIY thing and the Saab thing). I'm venturing into new territory here :) Thanks in advance for the replies.
