C900s are fun cars. The transmissions are the weak points, having been well designed for a 100 Hp car. The ECUs on '89 MY cars can be troublesome (but can be replaced with ECUs from other years.)
Fortunately, the belts are the traditional ones instead of serpentine belts. Replacing them is an art form - having long, skinny arms helps, as does taking off the water pump pulley.
Maintenance is what you'd expect from an old car - pretty similar to what it was for your 9K.
Common complaints are cracking dash, hard to find water leaks, '89 ECUs, transmission (you may want to avoid the automatic), noisier than a good 9K, biodegradable underhood wiring harness insulation in some '85 MY 900s, etc.
My favorite years are '88 and '89 because '88 got 9K brakes and wheels, and '89 900Ts got the LH 2.4 ECUs, and they don't have ABS complexities. At this point, it's more how the car was maintained and driven by the previous owners as well as the mileage than the model year as far what troubles it will develop.
Other folks will have their faves for model year and model, of course.
