The oil light works if I ground it to engine, so that means sender is bad, I suppose. What size is the socket required? It's larger than any I have, for sure! Will any 12v. sender work, or must it be a super Saab unique, blessed by all the Nordic gods?
The battery light: I know it works; I've seen it. It just doesn't come on with the ignition. I checked battery voltage again, running and not running. I must have missed something earlier; now I get 13+ base and almost 15v. running, so the alt. appears to be charging. I see only a green/white striped wire to the alt. (other than the big red wire on power lug)
Measuring from alt. frame to engine = 0 ohms. Only other connection is sorta internal, a black wire going to spade clip on alt. (voltage present) from a black plastic 'housing' on the alt.
From the grn/white wire to engine measures about 4/5 ohms, connected or not.
Does this yield any insight?
