Use a good size trolley jack to keep the front end off the ground while you move the whole car with it.
Also, the SAAB 99/900 engine/tranny package is probably the easiest powertrain removal this side of a Porsche 911. It will take much more time to unbolt the engine from the tranny in the awkward confines of the engine bay than it would to remove the whole unit and disassemble outside the car.
You don't even need a helper to pull the thing out or put it back in. I just set the engine hoist to lower the engine slowly, then guide the powertrain onto the mount pins from the side. Works first time every time.
Good luck. Just report in with any problems regarding disconnecting bits or the engine removal itself. Someone will be here to walk you through it.
