The fuel shut off switch is on the turbo model. It is use to cut off the fuel in case of over boost. I believe the 1985 turbo model has a shut off switch. Lets start with the bacis. Is the car timed correctly. Are you getting 10 to 12 volts at the connector to the distributor. Have you tried replacing the ignition module with a know good one. Have you tried replacing the distribution with a known good one. You may have a bad hall effect in the distributor. Try these things and let us know what happens. Is your saab a 16 valve or 8 valve model? Hope this helps. george
