I went to a local yokel mechanic and he told me the line had rusted through in a few places. He said they had no metric brake lines in town (and I believe it). He didn't want to tell me to pinch the lines, but that's the best I could do. So off to an autoparts store, a few bottles of DOT4 fluid, and some hose clamps, and I was off. I put 2 clamps on the line and duct taped it all up so it wouldn't fall off.
We had lunch in Moab (Zax Pizza rocks!) and then checked out the wonderful Arches National Park.
I got a CE light climbing hills in the Utah heat. The car was shuttering a little under accelleration. The codes were for AMM, O2 sensor, or vacuum leak. I swapped out my rebuilt AMM and put in the original AMM in the trunk and life seems good. The car certainly doesn't have the same power when it's pulling 102 degree heat into the intake. The turbo preferred 60 degree air in Colorado!
I may need to check O2 sensor in LA when I meet Anders.
I'm in Tuba City AZ now and plan to head to see the Grand Canyon tomorrow. Off to LA on Monday... Off to my new home in San Fran on Wednesday.
