the turbo is properly positioned by being bolted to the exhaust manifold, so my guess is that your new header's dimensions are different than stock, which has moved the turbo out of position, thus preventing the return line from properly entering the block.

unless you can bend the existing line to fit or affix a different one (could try some braided stainless/teflon??), you may need to alter your header so that the flange to which the turbo attaches is in exactly the same position as the stock manifold.

i found that re-attaching the line to the block on my stock car required patience and a few choice expletives...
