I just put in a fresh set of NGK BCP6ES (supplier sent the wrong ones, but from what I've read here, shouldn't make a difference), cap and rotor (both Bosch), and cleaned the APC solenoid with carb cleaner on the same night I did my turbocharger "test".

Like I said, I didn't feel the kick of the turbo until 4K rpm's with the "W" hose removed. If it's attached, I never get any kick (only stays in yellow).

I'm sure I'm stuck in base boost, but this is negated once the APC solenoid is not controlling the wastegate, correct? In this situation, the turbo should be allowed to spin freely until it disintegrates.

When we talk of APC solenoid and box, I assume the solenoid is the thing with the 3 hoses coming out of it, and the box is the thing that clicks in the driver fenderwall.

As for timing, where do I point the timing light on a 5-spd? Do I need to disconnect anything to get a correct reading? I know I have to loosen the bolt and hold-down clamp under the rotor and turn it until the timing marks are set to 16BTDC.
