My old '85 SPG has been sitting around for a bout a year now with a VERY badly deteriorated engine wiring harness, ( I another 900t wiring harness to use as a replacement) I am thinking about restoring the car, I inspected it all over today to see how much rust it has , I removed all the skirting to get a better look, what I found was:

-Driver side from wheel well has a rust hole the size of a baseball, all the way through, fender has rust underneath the trim.
-Driver side rear wheel well has a rust hole about the size of a golf ball, and a smaller hole that goes all the way through the fender.
-Driver side front &rear floor areas have rust, front has a hole, about the size of a baseball straight to the carpeting, rear has a hole starting.
-Pasenger side lower front fender underneath SPG bumper extension has severe rust, bottom part of fender broke off, and I can look up and clearly see the washer fluid container.
-Passenger side rear fender has a small, but very rusty area underneath trim.

With the SPG panneling on and fender trim, a lot of the rust was not at all visable, overall, the paint is very good, and still very shiny, a-arms looked fine as well, along with the shock mounts.

This is pretty bad I know, but Im sure someone has repaired this much rust on an old saab before?... Im guessing, all new fenders, rusty floor boards cut out &replaced w/new sheet metal?.....anyone have experience with this?
I Love this car, the engine &trans and fine, and when it ran, it was very fast, the interior is all brand new (headliner, leather seats, dash, etc.)...so to me, it might be worth fixing. Any advice from someone who has dealt with this type of thing before would really be appreciated!
TIA!
