Hi guys,
Looking for some feedback on this. Two nights ago I did my first clutch job on the progect 900 that Chad and I are working on. I replaced the slave cylinder so i bled the clutch. The car felt great in the test drive. Last night I had a series of 2 odd symtoms which may or may not be related but seemed to begin at the same time, pointing to a connection. The car's brake fluid and ebrake dummy lights came on and stayed lit. At the same time, the tack stopped working also the directionals stopped working, however, the emergancy flashers continued to function. At the same time I began to notice failing in the brake (it would sink slowly to the floor and would need to be pumped to maintain pressure).
Apon inspection: Brake fluid reservoir remained full/cap on tight. No sign of fluid leaking from the new clutch.
When the car was restarted the first symptons did not reoccur and have yet to repeat themselves.
The brakes seem to have the problem in varying degrees; sometimes
unnoticeable and sometimes requires 2 or more pumps to come to a stop.
That is all the info I can think of as relevant. I am going to bleed the brake system in the hope that all this is caused by air which has become trapped in the brake lines. I was hoping to hear from others who have had similar experiences and may have explinations. Other than that the restoration stage of the project is going great. Later.
