plastic bushings on the seat height adjuster are still in place. These surround the rod (which is physically welded to the adjusting lever) at two points of support along the floor. If you're confused, e-mail me for photos. Our '85 was starting to lose these (little bits o'plastic) after being switched from Mom to Dad position a few million times and the seat loosened up.
Also inspect the floor mounting bits- I noticed a pair of holes that mount the adjustment assembly would elongate if the car has been rear-ended.
