While bad alignment will not usually cause a vibration in the short term, too much toe-in will eventually lead to cupped outer edges that will vibrate. I would check your lug nuts and maybe swap the front tire to the back. If not loose lug nuts and the vibration changes something is wrong with tire balance or a faulty tire or bent rim. Also check that the axle hub nut is as tight as you can make it. If this axle nut is loose, you may have toasted the whell bearing on that side.
You can diy align by wrapping a string tightly all the way around the tires as close to the hub as possible without hitting the body or suspension. With the wheels pointed straight ahead, there should be a 2mm gap between the rear sidewall and the string on each front wheel. This will provide just about zero toe-in, which many(including me) believe give better handling and tirewear than the factory specs, which call for more toe-in. Another way is to mark the front tread center of each front tire with a crayon and measure the distance between marks. Then roll the car so the marks are on the rear of the tire and remeasure. The difference is toe in or toe out, depending. I'd set to zero.
