constant 12V lead for aftermarket stereo installation

Wiring in an aftermarket stereo in my '91 900 base model. Removed the factory clarion unit and the wiring boards behind it such that I have the two connectors (power and speakers) with the bare wiring. Speakers are no problem, but I have not been able to locate a lead that delivers 12V unswitched (the yellow wire on most common steareos). The red (switched, 12V) and black (ground) are present. The other leads do not give 12v when the ignition is off according to my VOM. Anyone know of where I could tap in to find a constant 'hot' lead?
any info appreciated, thanks.
