You don't have to take the line out of the slave cylinder until the engine is out. Instead, loosen the union outside the clutch cover.
Realistically you should replace the rubber line, slave and master cylinder, so you might as well cut the rubber lline and order a new one. Its cheap insurance (my 9000 sufferred a failed line 100 miles from home - very unpleasant!)
