IIRC, you'll need to grind a wrench down a bit to get it to fit where the hydraulic line connects to the slave cylinder. Getting the flywheel cover out of the way will help.
If you can get a small vise grips on the upper end of the taper pin, try giving it a twist. Otherwise squeeze with a C-clamp of large vise grips w/ a nut over the big end to provide clearance as someone else suggested. If that doesn't work, undo the coupling as others have suggested.
