bottoming out when it shouldn't (disregard previous)

tonight I went to the local Hm Despot to buy come quickcrete - 320lbs +Nathan shouldn't have made the car bottom out at every road imperfection, but none-the-less it was a painful drive home. Why does my car sag? The new 195-65-15 tires I have mounted may be a bit too big for the car, but 1/2" away from the body panel is too close!
Assuming that after 100k miles the previous owner didn't replace any suspension components, is my work as simple as installation of 4 new shock absorbers? Has anyone tried heavy duty springs (as sold by sasab.com)? I do not want a lowered, harsh ride. I'd prefer stock, swedish ride with the ability to carry 1000lbs of manure in the hatch.
