Here's one of the best sites onthe web for this kind of info.
One of the things you'll be asking when you get down there is "How the(*&( do I loosen the pinch bolt?"
The pinch bolt on the shifter rod is located right above the steering rack. I've found the best way for me to approach it is to have the car up on jackstands (of course) and lie on the ground with my head towards the front of the car. I thread my right arm past the downpipe and can easily access the pinch bolt without going through the frustrations of multiple -joints, etc. You'll need to pry open the pinch sleeve with a screwdriver to make it easy to move on the shift shaft.
There's a special too that the site mentions. I've found that I can pull the shift shaft in the transmission straight back to get it into 3rd. Pull it hard to get it to seat in 3rd. Then you can tighten the pinch bolt (with the drill bit in the adjustment hole.)
It'll make sense after you read the site and see the adjustment in the flesh.
