Try diagnosing what the problem is by carefully pushing and pulling on the bulb through the speaker hole when the key is on--- see if you can make the dash lights go on or off. I tried bending the contacts on the bulb holder to make a tighter fit, and that worked for a while. Then I noticed that the printed circuit film on that side of the instrument cluster (it's secured by friction fit over some plastic pins) was lifting off. I secured that down with some electrical tape, and that seems to be working. If the film is actually damaged, it's possible to repair it with conductive ink (search BB), or you can swap the entire circuit film from a donor car (requires removal and partial disassembly of cluster). If you like the look, the indiglo kit fixes the problem forever...
