I hope that got some interest. Now with my saab story.
1990 900 2.0L N/A about 158k 5sp. was running fine until monday.
The only things that were wrong was an itermittent check engine light that would come on while idling and go off after driving for about 20-30 seconds and then come on at the next stop light and go off again after driving again. Also a small steering rack leak.

On Monday it was raining and on the way to work the car died while I was doing about 35 mph and would not restart. I have tried Bentley manual diagnostics. (I also have changed plugs, cap, rotor and from what I can tell I am not getting spark at the coil even). From what I have read on here it is either EZK unit, Ignition amp or hall (crank) sensor. I went under car to see where this $^%$ hall (crank) sensor is and to my amazement I see a nice puddle of oil Probably a 1/3 to 1/2 quart. I am down about 1 1/2 to 2 quarts and it use to use about a 1/3 of a quart between oil changes before.

Questions:

1. Is it normal to all of the sudden to have a major oil leak from the
front seal or is it the o-ring on the oil pump?

2. I am assuming that the hall (crank) sensor is covered with oil, therefore not working, hence the no spark at coil. Can the hall
(crank) sensor be cleaned and used again or is it an additional $200?

3. Or am I totally off and the EZK unit fail and some how spit all this
oil out?

Thanks for listening to my saab story and for any help in advance.

P.S. I have tried two other ignition amps that I picked up at the junk yard
I am not positive that they work (ohhh that would kill me if that was it, and they did not have any of the EZK control units to try)
