The front brakes on a 90 are different from the pre-88. I would be concerned about the major repair items.
I would check for evidence of a headgasket replacement, since it's about due unless car has used MBenz coolant. If already replaced that's good.
The next thing to check is the A/C, unless you don't care. If not working, you should still whack a few hundred off, though.
90 transmissions have the larger pinion bearing and are more durable, but still subject to abuse.
Make sure the airbag(SRS) and ABS brake dash warning lights go on when ignition is on prior to cranking, and then go off when started. When running at rest, hit the brake pedal rapidly. If the ABS light goes on after 5 hits, the pressure resevoir is weak($300).
Expect to do some suspension maintenance: bushings, balljoints, etc. not show stoppers.
