as it seems he recommended giving the AIC valve a good shot of WD-40. Seems you went the opposite way with carb cleaner...this would remove any and all lube which might have been in the AIC.
Did it idle smooth before your work? One of my 4 C900's does this wild idle swing thing, and I was thinking that the throttle body needed cleaned out to expose the small ports behind the plate. I did this cleaning on my 87T (RIP) and this flattened the idle out nicely. I also did the switch adjustment as others recomended, so it just clicked when releasing the throttle.
