Re: getting ready for windshield install & need chrome Posted by DougM [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: getting ready for windshield install & need chrome, Saabu ![]() |
I bought some of the Saab OEM stuff from Jack Lawrence of MSS(Motor Sport Service), and as I recall, he had more of it. The bags were labeled part #8236788(DEKORLIST-DEC.STRIP). The dimensions of the strip are 9/16" at the widest point and 3/16" at the widest other dimension(heigth). I bought three bags...one fits the bottom edge, one for the top edge(trim as needed), and one bag for the two sides(trim to fit)

Another source could be Restoration Specialties(website linked below). I needed some for my 99's. I looked through their catalog and found a few options which might work, but I wasn't sure, so after a few e-mails, they sent me some samples in the mail. After I tried the samples, I called them and placed my order. It took over a month to get the stuff because they were out of stock at the time. I am very pleased with their product, and it was only $1.50/ft. 10' should be more than enough for your C-900, but you better double check the measurement just in case. It's also OK to have your guy install the windshield and drive it while you wait for the stuff to come in(if they can't get it to you soon). I drove my 99 around for a year before I locked in the windshield and back window.
Page 25 of the catalog is where you will find the listings and part numbers. Part #200208 looks pretty close to your application, but it is 1/16" taller. Width wise it should work fine.
I also bought some of the OEM stuff off ebay for the widshield. They had it listed for a C-900, but I needed it for my 99. I took the leap and bought it anyway, and it worked fine....but it was pricey..@$80+....I'd try the other two places first.
