i was in the same boat as you and did some research on the topic. I tried using my neighbors 2 ton arbor press and it was barely enough to do the upper control arm bushings, but definitely not enuff to do the lowers.
you'd need at least a 4 ton for those.
i also did a bunch of front wheel bearings and the hardest part is getting the old ones out. we used a sledge hammer etc to get them all apart (do a search on wheel bearings and look for my name) and used my buddy's 20 ton shop press to put new bearings in. i think a 12 ton would do that job fine, and maybe even the 4 ton hydraulic one would probably do it to. Wheel bearings are not easy - you have to have the correct drifts and supports so perhaps getting a shop to do them would be easier.
you also have to consider how much room you have in your shop or wherever. Height wise, the 12 ton's are short, so you will have to build some sort of base so that you are not bending over to use them (at least the ones for sale up here are short).
i think the best bet would be a hydraulic 4 ton bench-mount press with a guage on it. wouldn't take too much room up and does most jobs.
Besides suspension bushings and front wheeel bearings, there's not much else on these car's you'd need a press for.
i guess there might be some stuff in a manual tranny too, but am not sure.
