Working on swapping an engine/trans (both auto, sadly) from a '91 900T into an '87 900TC. I've got new radiator hoses/clamps, Viggen BPV, pretty much every sensor (NTC, Oil Pressure, etc.), ball joints and bolts, outer tie rod ends and steering shaft boots, shock bushings, motor mounts, 82 degree thermostat/fan switch, plugs/wires/rotor/cap, alternator bushings, intake manifold vaccuum hose bushings and fittings, a billion feet of silicon vac hose, and new fuel line and ATF line washers.
Questions:
1. Are there any other things I should replace while the engine's out?
2. To convert the '91 engine from LH 2.4 to LH 2.2 (I don't want to swap the wiring harness and ECU), is it enough to swap the throttle body or do I need the whole intake manifold? Is there a gasket between the throttle body and intake manifold?
3. Are there any EXTREMELY GOOD reasons to rethink my decision not to swap harness/ECU and put LH 2.4 in the '87?
4. Anything screwy about a convertible I should worry about/look out for?
5. Are there any general pitfalls to watch out for? This is my first Saab engine work...
Thanks very much for your help,
Scott
