Clutch hydraulic woes

I have been having some issues with my clutch fluidics and was hoping to get some advice...
I have a 1987 900S. About 2 months ago I put in a new clutch master cylinder effectively fixing the problems I was having. About two weeks ago I jumped in my car and the clutch pedal went down with no resistance. I had the car towed home, found that the clutch resevoir was low, filled it and bled the air out of the system. This seemed to fix the problem temporarily, however over the last two weeks, the pedal is slowly losing its resistance yet again.
Some questions that pop up...
- Is it rare/common for a new master cylinder to fail? Should I get a rebuild kit? New master cylinder? (It is a Delphi master cylinder)
- I accidently put DOT5 in the resevoir (not much though) a while back, cringed, and flushed it out. Is it possible that there is residual DOT5 is causing the new cylinder to fail?
- Is it the slave cylinder that could be giving these problems? (I haven't noticed any fluid leakage)
Any ideas/comments would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Scott
