I currently own a '99 Viggen and a '91 Audi Coupe Quattro. I am selling the CQ (sad to see it go, but it is time) to a colleague and will then be looking to purchase an '85-'86 SPG. I personally prefer the look of the '85-'86, despite it's possible shortcomings in comparison to the later SPGs. Aside from the typical recommendations when purchasing a used car (maintenance history, etc.), what are some points of interest specific to this model and the years previously stated. Some of my initial thoughts are:

Leather interior - Any rips / tears (aside from normal wear)
Condition of dash (any cracks) and SPG body panels (including rear spoiler)
Heating and A/C - converted to R134a
Headliner (sagging)

Are there any major differences between the two years aside from interior color, side markers? I have read that the wiring in the '85 leaves a bit to be desired. Any additional thoughts / suggestions / recommendations are greatly appreciated.
