Is the classic 900 supposed to offer such a harsh ride?
Over the past two weeks I've driven 4 different c900s and 2 different japanese compact cars. All cars had around 150K miles on them. Three of the saabs are from the 90's and most likely have the original shocks. One of the saabs is an 85 with boge shocks under 1 year old. All the imports are from the 90's too and have the original shocks.
Don't get me wrong, but why does the honda and nissan I drove seem to absorb road imperfections SO much better than all the saabs I drove? Even the '93 c900 felt like it was taking a beating with every bump I hit. Maybe it could use shocks, but I know that the honda I drove was running the original shocks and it didn't have any problem absorbing even large potholes. Even my 85 with new shocks is pretty harsh in comparison.
Is it a weight issue: saabs are heavier and therefore hit harder?
I love my saab. I don't want a honda or nissan. I wish my saab would only make a little "thump" instead of a "BOOM" when I hit a pothole.
