Inga,
I looked at the Interior Lighting wiring diagram in the SAAB 8V Bentley repair manual. Four wires (3 black, one yellow) connect to the lamp in three connectors, meaning two wires are paired up and use a single connector and two others have individual connectors.
It shows that the two individual wires are black and connect to the two terminals on one side of the bulb (the side where the on/off/door switch is located).
The paired yellow wire and black wire (grouped together) connect to the terminal at the OTHER end of the bulb.
I have taken these lamps out before to change bulbs and made the mistake of doing so without disconnecting the battery. Result: I shorted the exposed terminals on the bulb holder against the car's roof! Not good. It melted the plastic--which is nearly 20 years old now--forming a blob of plastic near the metal connectors, effectively soldering the on/off/door switch in a single position ("off" position, as it turned out). I ended up fiddling with the switch until it finally started working again.
Save yourself a headache and make sure you disconnect the negative terminal at the battery BEFORE attempting work on the side dome light.
Hope this helps!
