Bently Says 8.5 quarts total capacity.
When you drain I think you can get out 3.
The formula to determine th amount of clean fluid is:
(capacity-drained)/capacity = % dirty fluid
or
((capacity-drained)/capacity)*# of drain and refills = % dirty fluid
To get 11% dirty of 89% clean you do this 4 times
95% takes 5 times or 15qt@$1=$15
98% takes 6 times
99$ taked 7 times
To make this work properly you:
start the car and idle in park for ~30 seconds
put in neutral for ~30 seconds
put in reverse for ~30 seconds
put in drive for ~30 seconds
put back in park and shut it off.
Drain - fill repeat.
This will circulate the fluid through 100% of the trans.
It doesnat take as long as it sounds.
Do this initially if you don't know the history - then at first oil change
Do the drain and fill at every oil change
do the long proceedure every 15k or so.
Don't forget to clean the filter and/or use an inline filter (on the hot side to the cooler) or a spin on filter (WIX makes both).
